When an item doesn't work properly there are several remedies that might solve the problem. A few of these actions are listed below.
1. A minor resetting of the controls is done. There is no charge for this service.
2. A clarification of the operation of the item is made. There is no charge for this service.
3. The battery and battery contacts are checked. There is no charge for this service.
4. A minor repair may be done while you wait. A price quotation is made before any repair is done. Payment is made after the repair is done.
5. A major repair is needed. This type of repair is usually done by our local repair center, located in St. Petersburg. They pick up and deliver to us once a week. If parts do not have to be ordered from the manufacturer the turn-around time is usually 2 to 3 weeks. Since the warranty period varies according to the item please ask for warranty details when item is left for repair. A price quotation is made before any repair is done. Payment is made after the repair is done. If our local service center does not offer repairs on the broken item we can sometimes send the item to the manufacturer or furnish you with the address if you wish to do it yourself. If you ask us to send the item to the manufacturer there will be a service charge collected before the item is sent out. Estimates are usually not made until the manufacturer receives the item. Turn-around time in these situation varies greatly.
6. No repair is done either because the parts are no longer available or the repair cost is more than the value of the equipment. If a broken camera body cannot be repaired we can usually offer a new or used substitute on which all your accessories will work. We do buy or take in trade most broken camera items.
